Last weekend I took a mileage/status run to Anchorage. Flying back, somewhere over the Gulf of Alaska, I hit my 50K miles to re-qualify for Gold in 2018.
I flew AS 17 from PHL-SEA on Friday, December 8th, and then SEA-ANC on flight AS 115. The crew on both flights were great, but special mention to the FA on AS 115 who, after closing the door, came back to my exit row seat, and asked “would you like to move up front”? Why, yes, I would. My favorite kind of upgrade. I stayed over, and flew back ANC-SEA in the early morning Sunday, flight AS 146. Somewhere over the Gulf of Alaska, I reached the combined 50,000 Alaska Air and partner miles to re-qualify as Gold for 2018. I had gotten Gold for 2017 thru a status match from my AA Platinum status I had in 2016. My final leg left SEA at dawn, AS 32, SEA back to PHL.
